Why our approach stands out
(It’s in the detail…)
10 reasons our approach is different
01 — Small class sizes
No more than six dogs per class. Plenty individual attention within class. Space around dogs in class. A quiet, organised and friendly learning environment.
02 — Supportive materials
Detailed handout sheets. Videos demonstrating the training. Personalised demos. You are welcome to email or WhatsApp at any time for advice on any subject relating to your dog.
03 — Certified trainers
Trainers who have worked hard to achieve reputable qualifications and who undertake regular CPD and external assessment.
04 — Structure
Behaviours are taught in a specific order. Each week builds on the previous week. Each course builds on the previous course.
05 — Clicker training
Clicker training is a revolutionary method of training, which sees incredible results in a short time.
06 — Ethics
DogWorks uses only effective methods which cause no pain or fear. We work using methods which are in accordance with the ethical codes of our accrediting bodies.
07 — Certificates
Celebrating and recognising your achievement is important. Certificates are awarded at the end of each course.
08 — Training in various locations
Whilst our early classes are held inside, later classes run outside. One to ones are held in a location best suited to you and your dog. Your dog learns to respond to you in a variety of realistic everyday locations, not just inside a training hall.
09 — Set start/end dates for courses
With set start and end dates, everyone begins together and celebrates completing together. With the same people and dogs in class each week, there is a sense of community and a supportive group. Everyone is training the same material at the same time and progressing at the same pace. (The only exception to this, is Puppy Preschool. Because socialisation can’t wait — so puppies start ASAP.)
10 — Age appropriate classes
Our classes cater to baby puppies right through to adult dogs. Tiny puppies will not be overwhelmed by boisterous adolescent dogs.

And we ask for one thing from you: Commitment.
We know that people see real progress when they dedicate time to training their dogs.
